When asked to share a “weather forecast” for the Refugee Highway during meetings in Bangkok, I issued a Severe Weather Warning.
I thought I would share the reasons in the next few posts. Here are the first two.
- The number of forcibly displaced people is escalating worldwide. The number of refugees, asylum seekers and internally displaced persons has nearly doubled in the past 10 years.
- Forcibly Displaced People are increasingly being framed in the media and by politicians as a threat rather than as vulnerable people in need of protection.
Stop by tomorrow and I’ll share two more reasons.
